THAI BIO LABS scientific assessment

Evidence in context.

Key takeaways
  • The clinical population and endpoint are specific. [1]
  • A research vial is not established as equivalent to a clinical formulation.

Tesamorelin has controlled clinical evidence in a defined HIV-associated abdominal-fat population. That evidence should be presented with its eligibility criteria and measured endpoint, rather than described as general fat-loss or healthy-ageing proof. [1]

Research overview

What the published record is evaluating.

Tesamorelin is a growth hormone-releasing factor analogue. The selected trial evaluated visceral adipose tissue and related outcomes in people receiving antiretroviral therapy. [1]

Selected studies

Findings and their limits.

The trial enrolled 404 participants. Its six-month randomised efficacy phase compared tesamorelin with placebo, followed by an extension with treatment continuation or switching. Visceral fat decreased more with tesamorelin during the controlled phase. [1]

Participants switched to placebo lost the initial visceral-fat improvement. Durability after withdrawal is therefore a separate question from response during treatment. This finding does not describe a TBL research formulation. [1]

Primary research areas
  • Visceral adipose tissue in the studied HIV population

Evidence quality

Strengths and limitations, shown together.

Strengths
  • The study includes a blinded randomised comparison and an extension addressing persistence of effect. [1]
Current limitations
  • This selected trial does not establish benefit for healthy adults seeking general body-composition change.
  • Endocrine and clinical endpoints should not be treated as interchangeable.

Safety & tolerability evidence

Published safety context.

Read the trial’s safety and endocrine measurements alongside its body-composition results. This brief does not provide a complete prescribing or safety assessment.

Scientific outlook

Where the evidence may develop next.

Further summaries should separately assess liver, body-composition and long-term safety endpoints in the exact populations studied.

INTERPRETATION FRAMEWORK

Different records. Different questions.

Three connected layers help interpret the evidence. They answer different questions and cannot substitute for one another.

Narrative Review

What the published scientific record reports, including its scope, findings and limitations.

Evidence Index

A structured reading framework. For metabolic peptides, it also preserves the original dated editorial scores and component breakdowns.

Batch Record

Analytical identity and other lot-specific documentation for a THAI BIO LABS material, when published.

Use the Evidence Index to examine the research interpretation and Batch Records to review documentation for a specific lot.

Research-use boundary

Clinical literature and THAI BIO LABS research materials are not the same record.

Published studies may concern approved medicines, investigational pharmaceutical material or other controlled research preparations. THAI BIO LABS materials are supplied for laboratory research use only and are not represented as medicines or substitutes for regulated pharmaceutical products.
