Storage & Handling

Control the environment. Preserve the record.

General principles only. Use the instructions that apply to the exact material, lot and state. This checklist does not assign storage temperatures or shelf lives.

01

Match the material and instructions

Check the product, declared amount and lot against the label and applicable documents. Keep the instruction source and version with the record.

02

Check the stated conditions

Find the applicable temperature, closure, light and moisture instructions. Ask for clarification if they are missing or conflict; do not invent a condition.

03

Identify the material state

Distinguish sealed dry material, opened material and a prepared solution. Confirm which state the instructions cover before carrying them over.

04

Keep a handling record

Record receipt, storage location, available monitoring, opening or preparation events and unresolved questions. Keep unknown history explicitly unknown.

Missing instructions or an uncertain shipment?

Keep the lot identifier, document version, receipt time and shipment reference together. Ask TBL for the applicable information and use the laboratory’s review procedure for the material’s intended research use. Delivery timing alone does not establish storage conditions or stability.
